    Posted: 12/14/11 at 1:48am
Wow,here I am finally doing a training log for all to see and to hopefully gain some support and help from.

I started in the highland games at a larry brock clinic in 2006 in Charlotte,NC and was hooked ever since. Done quite well in the first couple years of the games, coming home with at least a couple medals and had fair numbers as a newbie, was kinda more like a B or super B knocking on door of A class, that was until 2010.

At the blairsville games I stepped down and pulled myself out of the game with 3 events left due to horrible pain in lower back...I could barely walk, the drive home was even worse. I had an earlier spell that yr at loch norman, but I shrugged it off and still competed. I sat the rest of 2010 out. During that time I just went to my chiropractor and fixed myself.

In 2011 I was determined to get back into throwing. I started going to gym on a regular basis and started doing games again.,and have enjoyed it ever since. In July my games and gym was put on hold cause of work in north dakota,so I definately got weak again....now I'm back in the gym, back to throwing...and in 2012 I hope to become the athlete that I want to be.....so the journey begins.

Started off light since I haven't lifted since July:

DAY 1

Dumbell butterfly 65x7x3

Overhead press 180x7x3

Leg press 375x7x3

Dips 7x3

Bike 5:00 mins

Not much of a first day....but its a start
Feed back welcomed

Good to see a start bro. Remember compound movements are the key to overall strength. Good luck and remember to PULL HARD!

When you mention the hammer swings are you using a homemade bulgarian weight bag by chance? Made of innertube and athletic tape? Because if you are then that's badd ass like the honey badger! Keep it up because it helps your hammer a lot!! I've actually used an overweight one and worn my spikes with it.

Bean, Don't try to push yourself too fast. You might hurt yourself. It's nice to get PR's but be careful. You don't want to watch from the sideline.
