    Posted: 11/21/11 at 6:59am

Lets get some more traffic going. Other forums have this, why don't we?

This is the unofficial-official PR thread and the only reason it's prefaced with unofficial is because I didn't want to dig through the 24 pages of search results when I looked for another PR thread.

Rules are simple: Post up your new PRs. Throws, lifts, strongman events, rep PRs, post injury PRs, eating contests, etc. Video is required if you want your ego stroked, but not if you just want to put it out there, lol.

I'll start it out. I hit a 655 deadlift a few weeks ago, but that's old news by now. I nailed a sweet 275x1 strict overhead press on Thursday. Video here: http://youtu.be/-3yqe9B0VzY

I also dropped a 49' open stone on saturday which would be a training PR, but did not get video so it's a moot point.

Craig, can we sticky this so it stays updated?

ROFL

that was a low blow. at 285lbs, nobody wants to see me shirtless with boardshorts, for more than just the obvious reason.

1) I can't find boardshorts to fit my legs
2) how do they squat in boardshorts?
3) I'm a hairball
4) my pale skin will blind you

the list can go on, really..

LOL

I'm so bad that I PR all the time.  3 years of cattleballs and running tend to make a you a beginner in the gym even at 36.

Lifetime barbell PRs, finally broke the 500# on my deadlift at the Fallsfest Highlander in early October, straps and a hitch.  455 squat off a low box, briefs, belt, and knee sleeves.  200# 2' axle overhead 14 reps in 60 seconds at Fallsfest.  Split snatched 200 a couple of months ago.

And my first games was the Celtober Cowtown Throwdown so every throw, no matter how pathetic, listed in the database for that games is a PR.

I've got the Metroflex Highlander coming up December 10 and I'm hoping to set some new PRs or at least not embarrass myself.

I'm 5'9" around 220 to 230 depending on how much beer I've had during the week.

LOL...lucky throws.  I think it was the soundtrack.  No BS...I had the Fraggle Rock theme playing in my car when the stone happened.  Weird Al "White and Nerdy" for the WFD.  Troof -JVG.

OK, I'm all about PRs.  I'm going to go out on a limb and put this out there:

New Year's Eve...going for 1000+ rack pull.  Just over the kneecap.  Nothing big for some of you meatheads, but it would be a PR for me.

Couple more to add. It's good to be a reborn beginning lifter.

Standing overhead press 225x3 elbow sleeves and wrist wraps. not super strict but good enough for government work. Lifetime PR baby.

Box squat off a low box, belt, briefs, knee sleeves.
455x3 off a low box. 1 more rep than the last PR.

So no one in my area has 4 45's for me to use.  Looks like it's back to Academy tomorrow for the old "buy and return."  Which is lame.

But what are ya gonna do?

solid. I love how explosive your lifts are.

also, you grab the bar like you have a DL suit on, it's funny to see you "not" bend over or sink your hips much. I doubt it's a flexibility issue, I'm assuming it's just an old habit. Incredible posterior strength.

I'm very anxious to see your 585 squat RM.

Matt, you DO realize that pulling a max rep deadlift probably fried your system for squats 2 days later, right? :)

Shoulda made that one a Monday/Friday thing.

Still badass.

not too impressive compared to many of you guys, but here is a 20lb PR from me yesterday.. 435 front squat:

http://youtu.be/OyXTfc_symA

had more in me, but my knee was giving me some grief. I'm deloading next week so it should be feeling much better when I start hitting the wheels again.

that was pimp. I did 315x1 on tuesday: http://youtu.be/KOCTK_piGd8

any tips on overhead tricep strength? it's 100000% my limiting factor and you can even see it on my lockout. My legs were still pretty dead from monday's sesh, but regardless I had great speed up until the finish. I went for 335 and got the weight about 3" above my head and triceps couldn't take over. This leads me to believe my tris are lacking, in a big way. I already knew they were my limiting factor in benching. I'm thinking about adding in some overhead pin presses as well as overhead skulls, db extensions, etc to really smoke the long head.

thoughts?
