I noticed at the Monterey Games this year that my sheaf was all over the map, directionally speaking. I released the sheaf at the apex of my pull with some good oomph behind it, but where it went after that seemed kind of random. At least it went "up" and "back".
![]() I started wondering if that happened in part because I practiced with one fork, which had tines with a particular amount of bend and spring in them...and then competed with a different fork, which has a different amount of bend. The two forks are really different. I'm now starting to use "my" fork (the new one, even though the tines aren't in A+ shape, yet) and I notice over three practices that I'm much more directionally consistent. It goes pretty much the same place, every time. Now I know where to stand to get the maximum height. Same for you'se guys, or no? |

Yeah, I have a hard time with another fork. Tried one of the real thin
time model and could not get it between the uprights. |

Guess I need to practice with my new (old) fork I just bought. I have a fork I have been using I bought from ace hardware, has the big thick tines. Will the thin tines of the old fork make a big difference? I throw in Anderson this weekend, I may have waited to late. This fork is lighter than the one from ace. |

I use a antique fork with thin tines. When I get it to vibrate after a throw I know the follow through was good. I have never thrown one with thick tines. I don't think you could get the same spring off the thicker fork that you get with a thin tine. I like my fork and have been offered $100 for it from others I have let throw with it. When I do retire so will my fork.

Yea. But don't expect much from me. I'll just be going through the motions. Heel still painful when I spin. And the only event I may spin in is the Sheaf, if I am throwing it good.
