In the blog section of my site I have a new interview with Harrison Bailey III.  I really enjoyed this as I don't know the man that well.  Entertaining and informative.  I hope you enjoy him as much as I did.  Please let me know what you think.

Great insight into a great man. I personally hope to get to know Harrison a little better myself. I competed at Altamont (Capital District Games in New York) the year he came back after his Achilles injury and he just powered through the day to win. We all knew he would be back and better than ever. Great interview.

Awesome Myles.

I really thought his greatest moment ever was this past year when he beat me in the standing WOB at Goshen!

HB, Such a talented guy, he just blew away record after record in his first Am games. When he first turned pro I was winning a lot of games on the east coast and still able to beat him for a couple seasons but i knew my days were numbered as soon as he figured out the weight for height and the caber. He figured them out quick and the rest was history. I remember a practice session with HB, myself and Paul where HB threw the 28 over 90' five or six throws in a row. Paul and I were just shaking our heads. He was in the zone.

We were in Portland one year doing some wacky morning zoo radio show to promote the games and the DJ thought it would be funny to have us go outside with the funny sidekick DJ and throw something heavy. Like that would really sound good on radio. So they get two of those big water jugs from next to the water cooler and the guy wants us to stand twenty feet away and try to hit him. HB throws his right past the guys head and mine one hops right into his ankle and breaks it. Now the guy is rolling around on the ground screaming on the radio and we just looked at each other and just laughed and walked back int othe studio.

I'm proud to have been there to see him start up in the games and rise up to the level he's at now. There has never been a cooler and classier guy in the games.

That lady DJ was so into HB she damn near slid off her chair. "Ooo, you're so handsome, mmm!" I hate HB.

Thanks for all the positive replies.  Those questions really make you think and appreciate the people you meet in these games.

Steve,  I forgot about that interview at the radio station.  Damn that was funny!!!

I wish there was just a open mens class so I could meet and throw with class guys like HB3.

(HB3 quote)

(I threw 176ft in the discus in HS and 176.6ft in college.)

I threw the exact same thing from highschool to my senior year in college. I lost 20 feet in distance going to the heavier discus and it took 4 years to gain 20 feet.
