The Travel Channel's Bert the Conqueror filmed at the
Meadow Highland Games (formerly Richmond) last year. The
show aired tonight; the only currently scheduled
rebroadcast is at 3:30 am Monday (4/4/11). Set your Tivo.

Bert conveniently forgot to mention that he tossed the
women's caber, not the longer, heavier stick they showed
people dropping.

It was only about 12-10 minutes of the games though. Still, nice to see some familiar faces on national television *cough* beau fay *cough*

and I knew he used a small caber. I had doubts about my athletic ability at first haha

It was pretty good.  nice to see some familliar faces.  I was wondering about that caber.  You could tell they were setting it up like he would turn it but I saw that first one and thought "No way".  Then I saw him pick the little one and realized it wasn't the same one.  Still it takes a lot of courage to get out there, good for him.

One of his people posted some additional (low-quality) video, including his attempts at the men's caber.

I caught the tail end of that show. i thought that looked like two different cabers being shown....

and I did see big Sam Grammer at the very end of the episode also...

was cool to see it but also noticed the absence of anything weighing 56 lbs too....unless i totally missed it but all i saw was open, sheaf, hammer and caber....

No, you didn't miss anything. We threw seven events, he only tried four.
